Introduction
Vitae Evidence combines the power of AI, text-mining, NLP, established rules and case-based reasoning to harvest information from scientific and real-world data. It identifies relevant treatment options related to biomarkers and patient data.
The Challenge
How can we design a user-friendly system that presents intricate medical data and information to both healthcare professionals, such as clinicians and analysts, and patients in a visually appealing and easily understandable manner? The system should take into account the vast amount of medical data that is often complex and difficult to comprehend, while also ensuring that it is accessible to individuals with varying levels of medical knowledge. Additionally, it should provide a seamless experience for users, with clear navigation and intuitive data visualisation, enabling them to quickly access, understand and trust the information they need.
My Tasks and Creative Process
As a product designer, I conducted user research to understand the needs of healthcare professionals. I created user flows and prototypes to test design concepts and presented my ideas to stakeholders and the development team. I also performed usability testing and established a design system for consistency across products.
Research and Discovery
I was responsible for a wide range of tasks that required me to use my creativity and technical skills. One of my primary responsibilities was conducting user research to better understand the needs and preferences of clinicians, analysts, and other experts within the healthcare profession. This involved gathering feedback from these professionals on their experiences with various digital products and services, as well as exploring their pain points, challenges and needs.
Based on my findings, I crafted user flows and stories that aimed to simplify the user experience and enhance the product's usability. Using Balsamiq and Figma I created wireframes and prototypes that allowed me to visualise design concepts and test them out with different user groups before starting on finalising the designs.
